World Expo 2020 in Dubai – join the Finland’s pavilion Snow Cape

Finland, together with over 100 Finnish companies, will participate in the World Expo 2020 with pavilion Snow Cape.

Over 25 million visitors are expected, and circa 190 countries are participating the Expo from 20 October 2020 to 10 April 2021. The main theme of the Expo is Connecting Minds, Creating the Future with subthemes Mobility, Sustainability, Opportunity. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

United Arab Emirates (UAE) is one of the most important export countries for Finland in Middle East. Dubai is the major business hub in the Gulf area and several multinational enterprises have their regional headquarters there.
Finland is participating in Dubai Expo with a 10 M€ budget, of which 50 % is covered by corporate financing.

Total of 40 companies and clusters have committed over 4,8 M€ financing. Participation is operated by Business Finland and Steering Committee has representatives of ministries (MEE, MoF, MoE) and businesses (Technology Industries and National Partners).

​​​​​​​The Finnish pavilion Snow Cape will be located in subtheme area of Mobility, as it covers well Finnish offering of mobility of people, goods and data. Finland’s working theme of the pavilion is Sharing Innovative Competences. The theme will reflect Finland's technological competences and innovation, sustainability and Finnish values.

The Finland Pavilion resembles a white tent made of snow, inspired by the Finnish landscape in winter. The visual identity of the Finland Pavilion incorporates both Finnish and Arab cultures, starting with the main entrance which gives an impression of arriving in an Arabic tent. The pavilion building will focus on the themes of nature, innovation and sustainability. The concept, planning and execution of the Finnish pavilion are being undertaken by JKMM Architects (Finland) and Expomobilia AG (Zurich, Switzerland).​​​​​​​

How to join the Pavilion?


There are different partner categories for interested companies. As an official partner the companies will get visibility for their products, services and messages both in the exhibition and in the communications program. They will get right to use the Pavilion VIP and meeting venue for your promotional events and seminars on agreed days and to participate in official business delegations and the National Day program. In addition, it’s possible to participate as event or in-cooperation partner.

A World Expo is a large international exhibition designed to highlight achievements of nations, to promote their innovations and progress, as well as educate and entertain visitors. The first World Expo took place in London in 1851. These Expos vary in character and are held in different parts of the world. The most recent international exhibition, Expo 2017, was held in Astana, Kazakhstan. The Dubai Expo is the first one organized in Arabic world.
